Bringing Back the Joy of Snail Mail

People often ask me, "What do you want to achieve with Letter Writing PH in the long run?" Honestly, it started with a simple idea—I wanted to earn by creating handcrafted envelopes. Writing letters has always been my thing. It’s my way of showing love and thoughtfulness to my family and friends. And when I write, it’s never just about the words; I make sure the whole experience feels special.
I love hearing people say, "Parang ayokong buksan, baka masira yung envelope!" It makes me so happy knowing that the effort I put into crafting each piece is appreciated. That’s when it hit me—why not share this experience with more people? Everyone deserves to feel the joy of sending and receiving a letter, especially one that’s beautifully made.
But this small dream grew into something more when I lived abroad and saw how other countries value their postal systems.
The Good and the Bad of Sending Letters
While I was living overseas, I sent letters, postcards, and even small packages to different countries using my handmade envelopes. It amazed me how fast and reliable their postal systems were. A letter to Japan or the US would arrive in three days! Even postcards sent to places like India and Mexico—where some friends warned me about unreliable postal services—arrived in about five days.
Then I tried sending mail back to the Philippines. That’s when the problems started. Letters never arrived. Small packages came through but often opened. And a simple postcard? I thought, “It’s just a postcard. This should be easy.” But no, it never made it. I ended up just handing the postcard to my friend—completely missing the magic of it traveling through the mail.
It made me wonder: What’s wrong with our postal system? Some post offices work just fine; there are even branches in malls. So, why do so many of us avoid using it? Why don’t we trust it anymore?
A Small Step Toward Change
I don’t have all the answers, and I know I can’t fix the postal system on my own. But I believe Letter Writing PH can be a small step in the right direction. My goal is to encourage people to send more letters—to start using the postal system again and maybe, just maybe, spark some improvements along the way.
Imagine if more of us went back to writing and mailing letters. It could remind people how special it feels to receive something personal and tangible. At the same time, it might push the system to step up. Who knows?
It’s About More Than Letters
At its core, Letter Writing PH isn’t just about fancy envelopes or stamps. It’s about making connections that feel real and meaningful. It’s about slowing down in a world that’s moving too fast and taking the time to create something from the heart.
There’s something magical about receiving a letter in the mail—seeing someone’s handwriting, knowing it traveled miles just to reach you. That’s the feeling I want to bring back.
So let’s keep writing. Let’s send letters, share stories, and create memories. Who knows? These little efforts might not only bring back trust in our postal system but also remind us all of the beauty of staying connected, one letter at a time.
